  • FA Defensive Back #34
Rodgers was handed an indefinite suspension for betting on NFL games and was let go shortly after the penalty was handed down. The former sixth-round pick will miss at least the 2023 season but could be forced to sit out longer, given his violation of league rules. His teammate, Rashod Berry, was also let go by the team after he received the same indefinite suspension as Rodgers. Rodgers could eventually catch on with a team once reinstated, while Berry hasn’t appeared in a regular season game since 2021.
  • IND Defensive Back #34
Rodgers and his teammate, Rashod Berry, have both been hit with indefinite suspensions that will amount to a minimum of one year. Free agent defensive tackle Demetrius Taylor was also hit with the same indefinite suspension. While we knew a suspension was coming for Rodgers, Berry, and Harvey were two of the players who had yet to be named as rumors of incoming suspensions mounted. Their indefinite suspension comes after it was determined they bet on NFL games, which is a clear violation of the league’s policy. Rodgers was a key contributor to the Colts’ special teams unit last season, while Berry and Taylor have appeared in a combined nine games since 2021.
  • IND Defensive Back #34
Schefter said Rogers would be among a handful of NFL players who would be suspended for the 2023 season after running afoul of the league’s gambling policy. Many players and coaches have said this offseason that they were not aware of the NFL’s prohibition against gambling as sports gambling is legalized in states across the US. Rodgers has appeared in 45 games as a pro, including 10 starts, nine of which came last season. He’s listed as a cornerback on the Colts depth chart.
  • IND Quarterback #10
Atkins said on Monday’s Rotoworld Football Show that the Colts used minicamp to see how much Anthony Richardson could handle. Colts coaches “stressed him from the jump” with rapid fire play recall and various offensive formations. If Richardson needs time to adjust to the pro game, Atkins said Minshew would step in and start early in the season until Richardson is ready to roll. “It’s trending toward Anthony’s job Week 1, but I don’t think it’s a guarantee because they need to have someone who is ready to run the entire playbook,” Atkins said. “Gardner is way ahead in terms of knowing the playbook” because he has familiarity with head coach Shane Steichen’s offensive scheme. Expect Richardson to continue to be drafted as if he gets the Week 1 nod.
  • IND Safety #31
Scott tore his ACL on the final play of OTAs last week. The Colts drafted Scott in the fifth round this year. Scott was a special teams contributor in college and would likely have been able to carve out a similar role for himself as a rookie. Scott will now have to wait until 2024 to make his debut as players put on injured reserve before the start of the season are ineligible to return.

  • IND Running Back #28
Taylor was expected to be ready for training camp at the time of his surgery in January, which was described as an “arthroscopic debridement” to clean out his ankle. This doesn’t necessarily mean Taylor is in any danger of missing any of training camp, but obviously you’d feel more comfortable picking him in best ball if he’d been back on the field by now. Taylor remains a first-round talent in most drafts.

  • IND Tight End #80
“Woods is the only Indianapolis tight end who’s shown he has the athleticism to stretch the field the way Goedert can,” the Star reported. Woods will compete with six other Indy tight ends this summer, with the team likely to keep three tight ends to start the season. A 2022 third-round pick, Woods as a rookie caught 25 of 40 targets for 312 yards and three touchdowns. He averaged 12.5 yards per catch and had an average depth of target of 10.7 yards. Like most rookie tight ends, Woods said he struggled to pick up the multiple roles he had to learn in last year’s offense. Woods profiles as a fine late-round dart throw who should at least have a chance to run consistent routes in Steichen’s offense.

  • FA Defensive Back #34
A Colts representative spoke Monday, stating, “We are aware of the NFL’s investigation and have no further comment at this time.” In the fourth year of his rookie contract, any lengthy suspension could void the $3.44 million remaining, including $2.743 in guaranteed money. Rodgers has appeared in 45 games as a professional including 10 starts, nine of which came last season. He is currently listed as a starting corner on the team’s unofficial depth chart.

  • IND Center
According to Rybaltowski’s article, “The Colts player appears to have made the wagers through an account opened by an acquaintance,” and “there is evidence the Colts player placed hundreds of wagers.” While the unnamed player is not widely considered a “superstar,” Rybaltowski adds that “an ardent NFL fan has probably heard of him.” The bets were reportedly placed from inside the Colts’ facility, which we learned is against league policies after the Lions saw Jameson Williams and Stanley Berryhill suspended for six games this season for the same violation. We’ll undoubtedly learn more about this story as it develops, with a suspension likely on the way for the player under investigation.

  • IND Wide Receiver #9
Perriman has made his rounds through the league since being released from the Ravens after the 2017 season. He spent the last two seasons with the Buccaneers, totaling 20 receptions for 277 yards and two touchdowns over that span, and is little more than a one-dimensional deep threat. The former No. 26 overall pick will turn 30 in September and isn’t expected to compete for any key role; however, his ability to break off a big play could result in a long score or two if he finds his way onto the field.
